One of the central focuses of ConnectiKids programming is the Tutoring Program. Students meet individually with a tutor from one of nine sponsoring organizations to complete his/her homework or complete the lesson plans we provide on a weekly basis.
This is a short series of classes facilitated by local artists. Children work around a theme, self-selecting and participating in classes which interest them. Instructors thus have classes filled with children who are genuinely interested and can achieve a highly productive end result.
The Civic Engagement component of ConnectiKids invites youth to have a deeper understanding of the world and their influence on it so they can make meaningful improvements to their lives and the lives of others.
This program is offered in coordination with the Hartford Public Schools summer school schedule, and is the only program in the city to use a unifying, thematic approach tying together academic and enrichment activities and provides an inspiring context for learning.
