This is Javielis and her mentor Patrice. When Javielis started the program, she didn’t know much English. We provided Patrice with some tools to help her and Javielis understand each other better. Patrice expressed that Javielis is bright and does well with her homework but is shy when speaking with others. Patrice has been encouraging her student to ask more questions and speak to other mentors and students during their time together. This pair enjoys learning from each other and the time they spend on Wednesdays.
