The Asylum Hill Congregational Church host our 3rd grade students from West Middle Community. Asylum Congregational church members along with members from the community are committed to be mentors one day a week. ConnectiKids is a legacy organization from AHCC with 15 church members wanting to make a difference in the community. We have continued the work 40 years later! Avon High School hosts our kindergarten and 1st grade students that attend West Middle Community School. “Tutoring in the City” as it is known at Avon High allows high school students to be bussed to Hartford to mentor students one day a week for 75 minutes. The high school mentors and our youngest students have a blast every session! They are constantly learning from each other and growing together.

The Hartford Insurance company hosts our 4th grade students that attend West Middle Community School. The Hartford’s staff are committed to our program once a week. We have been partnering with the Hartford for over 15 years. The students get to interact with corporate individuals that not only help them with homework, but expose them to different career opportunities. Northwest Catholic High School commits to mentoring our 2nd grade students that are from West Middle Community School. These second grade students are exposed to a high school environment during their mentoring sessions that is located in their neighbor city of West Hartford. High school students stay after school to sit with eager second grade students, helping them with homework and reading comprehension.

Trinity College is committed to serving our students two days out of the week. Michael D. Fox Elementary students in 1st and 2nd grade meet on Mondays and 4th grade students meet on Tuesdays. Our students are exposed to a college campus close to where they attend school that focuses on liberal arts. College students volunteer their time once or twice a week helping students with homework and expressing the importance of higher education. Travelers host our 5th grades from Michael D. Fox and 8th grade students from Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. Travelers is a new partnership that started in 2019! Travelers employees commit to sitting with middle grade students once a week. Students gain access to having a positive relationship with an adult in a corporate setting. We are excited to continue and grow the partnership between ConnectiKids and Travelers. Our Site Coordinator are Pamela Roy, Amber King, and Gary Girouard who all serve as liaisons between the host agency and ConnectiKids.
